Things to know about the proposed assessment increase to benefit the Golf and Country Club

***VOTE “NO” TO THE PROPOSED AMENITIES AGREEMENT***

Where: Decatur High School Gymnasium - 2800 SW 320th Street, Federal Way

Please take a moment to read the front page of the Twin Lakes Golf and Country Club’s January 2010 issue of its Sandblaster newsletter (to view and download in PDF format click HERE).

The article states that there are “many other options” besides a bailout by some Twin Lakes homeowners that could make the golf club solvent again. Yet OUR TLHOA Board has, all along, pursued only the bailout option.

The article states that the option the golf club likes best is indeed a bailout by the TLHOA, because that would allow for “very little change in the level of services provided” (to current golf club members).  In other words, it seems, with at least $6 million of our money, the TLG&CC and its proprietary members could keep doing what they’ve been doing, with apparently no further sacrifices or need to innovate.

The Sandblaster article says that our money might go toward a new fitness room and other “club enhancements.” Put another way, a private golf club running short of money might spend OUR money on frills we wouldn’t own, with no way of knowing if a new fitness room would make the golf club more competitive with other area private golf clubs and public golf courses.

THE PROPOSED ASSESSMENT INCREASE TO BENEFIT THE GOLF AND COUNTRY CLUB IS A BAD DEAL FOR TWIN LAKES HOMEOWNERS, and we urge you to VOTE NO on February 6th.

If you cannot attend the Feb. 6 meeting, and if you wish to vote NO on the proposed assessment increase, please call us as soon as possible so that we can pick up your proxy and deliver it to the TLHOA office by the February 4 deadline.

Respectfully,

Homeowners for Twin Lakes
